Peer Mentor Certification Management

User Story

As a Organization Administrator
I want to clearly understand what happens to my profile and assignments if my certification expires
So that I appreciate the importance of renewal and am motivated to act before my status is affected

Acceptance Criteria

  • Given my certification expires within 30 days, when I view the certification screen, then I see a plain-language explanation stating that upon expiry my profile will no longer appear in the organization's peer mentor directory until I renew
  • Given my certification has expired, when I view the certification screen, then I see a confirmation that my profile has been suppressed from the directory, alongside the date suppression took effect
  • Given I am suppressed from the directory due to expiry, when I view my profile from the app, then I see a visibility indicator showing 'Not visible to contacts' with a link to start the renewal process
  • Given the consequence explanation is displayed, when I interact with it, then the text is screen-reader-compatible and meets WCAG 2.2 AA contrast requirements
  • Given a coordinator views my peer mentor detail screen while my certification is expired, when they load my profile, then they see the same expiry and suppression status I see, ensuring consistent information across roles

Business Value

Peer mentors who understand the tangible consequences of a lapsed certification are significantly more motivated to renew proactively. HLF specifically identified the physical certification card as an 'adelsmerke' (badge of honor), meaning their certified status carries personal pride and professional identity. Clearly communicating the visibility suppression mechanism reinforces the importance of the certification and reduces passive churn among volunteers who might otherwise be unaware their profile had become invisible.
